Asset Based Community Development .

ABCD was registered in May 2011 with the office of the District gender and social development office ( DGSDO) with an objective of providing social economic support to vulnerable members of the community through formal and informal systems in Western Kenya.
This includes empowering them to acquire livelihood skills by training in learning institutions as well as help increase chances of children achieving their dreams by ensuring their basic needs of having access to clean water is met both at home and while in school. This in itself would help save time normally used to look for water, thus being translated to time spent pursuing education or improving on their skills.

ABCD is taking action by constructing larg rain water catchment tanks and ventilated improved latrines( V.I.P) in schools, protection of springs, shallow Wells and construction of household latrines in communities. We conduct hygiene Evaluation in schools using C.T.C and P.H.A.S.T Methodology and lead the formation of school health clubs. In communities we promote hygiene by facilitating hygiene trainings, getting community Health volunteers and establishing of water & sanitation management committees at the village levels.
